June Card Focus

June card focus
~ LEMON LIME TWIST ~

This month I will be making cards on the Lemon Lime train! I love this colour and, to my surprise, it is my favourite out of all the New In Colours .

Today I will highlight this gorgeous card!

As a base for most of my cards, I like to use 21cm x14.5cm folded at 10.5cm cardstock.
The card just fits in standard envelopes and sits really nice.
I do other sizes at times, but this is my go to.
The second layer of color card or Designer Series Paper is generally a small step in from the cardstock at 10.25 x 14.25cm.

YOU WILL NEED

Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Up! cardstock 14.5 x 10.5cm

Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Up! Ink

Fresh Florals DSP cut to 10.25 x 14.25

Floral phrases bundle ( Die Cut)

White cardstock. 21 x 14.5 cm folded at 10.5cm

Ribbon and Embellishments of your choice

This card is Landscape position.
On the front, glue the DSP centred to the card.

With a die cutting machine, align your lemon lime cardstock so that it is 2mm from the edges and roll through. It is detailed, so a few run through's help to get it cut through. Also, if you have an oval stitched die cut for the sentiment run that through as well.
I like to have all the steps ready to go, so I'm not back to the cutter and I can store it back away for the safety of my little guys.
Isnt this stunning! So detailed and perfect!

So at this stage I have all my pieces ready to go.

Foam Dimensionals (not pictured)

The gluing part is easy! Lightly glue around the top, bottom, and outer edges of this gorgeous thang!
Keeping the middle unglued I think gives it a "wrap around" feel to it.

Now for the sentiment piece. I chose an oval paper cut out (also a die) but there are so many possibilities you could choose here. A simple round circle is beautiful too! To save money, I have used the Floral Phrases that I bought with the Floral Phrases Die Thinlits.
Fresh Fig Ink accents the lime so well!

For the ribbon, place the ribbon on a small piece of tape and you can make it as long or short as you like. The idea will be to see just a tad from the sides.
This gives the card some texture and balance.
Now that the ribbon is bunched together, take your oval sentiment and attach to the backside.

And from stage right are the amazing Foam Dimensionals! I love these little sticky things!
Simply put it is double sided sticky foam bits that help to add depth and dimension to your crafts! It literally makes things pop up making it look 3D!

Pop a few foam Dimensionals on the underside of the oval sentiment piece and mount on the card. Add some sparkle with Glitter Dots or your choice of glitzy, and Voila!, you have a beautiful card to send to a loved one!

Tried this same card in Fresh Fig and love it too!
